Terms of Sale and Service
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms apply when you buy anything from First Basketball, SIA through first.basketball or a checkout page we send you, including event entries, done-for-you services, digital products and subscriptions. Some products come with their own extra terms, shown in the product’s app or on its offer page. Where those extra terms differ from these, the extra terms apply to that product.
1. Who we are
First Basketball, SIA, a limited liability company registered in the Republic of Latvia.
Registration number: 40203717722
VAT number: LV40203717722
Registered address: Lielirbes iela 15-132, Rīga, LV-1046, Latvia
Email: hq@first.basketball
In these terms “we” and “us” means First Basketball, SIA, and “you” means the person or business buying from us.
2. Consumers and businesses
If you buy as a consumer (for purposes outside your trade, business or profession), you have the rights described below and all rights that mandatory consumer law gives you. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. If you buy as a business, the sections on the right of withdrawal do not apply to you.
3. Products and prices
Each product’s offer page or checkout shows what is included, the price, the currency, and whether VAT is included. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. We may correct obvious pricing errors before we accept your order.
4. Ordering and payment
You order by completing checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details. Your contract with us is formed when payment succeeds, and we send a confirmation by email. That email, together with these terms, is your record of the contract, so please keep it.
5. Subscriptions
Some products are sold as subscriptions.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period (for example monthly or yearly) and is charged to the same payment method, until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel any time from the account or billing settings for that product, or by emailing us. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Except as set out in section 6 or where the law requires, we do not refund periods that have already started.
- Price changes. We may change the price of a subscription. We will tell you by email at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. The new price applies from your next renewal after that notice. If you do not agree, you can cancel before that renewal and you will not be charged the new price.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may pause or end access until payment is made.
6. Your 14-day right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)
As a consumer you generally have the right to withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days without giving any reason. The 14 days run from the day the contract is formed. How this works depends on what you bought.
Digital content (for example downloadable kits, templates and files). If you ask us to give you access straight away, at checkout you expressly agree that access starts before the 14 days end and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once access begins. We confirm this in your order email. After that, you can no longer withdraw.
Subscriptions. At checkout you ask us to start your subscription now. You can still withdraw within 14 days of buying. If you do, we refund what you paid, minus a proportionate amount for the days you had access. After the 14 days, you can cancel any time to stop future renewals, as described in section 5.
Services (for example done-for-you website or operations work). If you ask us to start work within the 14 days, you can still withdraw within those 14 days, but you pay a proportionate amount for the work we did before you told us you were withdrawing. Once the service has been fully performed, you can no longer withdraw, provided you asked us to start early and acknowledged at checkout that you would lose the right once we had fully performed it.
Event entries (for example tryouts and camps on a fixed date). Entries for leisure and sports events on a specific date or period are not covered by the right of withdrawal. See section 7 for our refund rules for events.
How to withdraw
Tell us clearly, before the 14 days end, that you want to withdraw. The easiest way is an email to hq@first.basketball with your name, order number and the date of your order. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. If you withdraw validly, we refund all payments received from you, less any proportionate amount for services already provided, within 14 days of receiving your notice, using the same payment method you used, at no cost to you.
Model withdrawal form
To: First Basketball, SIA, Lielirbes iela 15-132, Rīga, LV-1046, Latvia, hq@first.basketball
I/We hereby give notice that I/We withdraw from my/our contract for the supply of the following digital content / service: ____
Ordered on: ____
Order number: ____
Name of consumer(s): ____
Address of consumer(s): ____
Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is sent on paper): ____
Date: ____
7. Refunds for event entries and services
Event entries. Entries for events on a fixed date (such as tryouts and camps) are non-refundable. If you cancel, change your mind or do not attend, for any reason, we do not refund the entry fee.
You can transfer your entry to another player free of charge. Email hq@first.basketball with the new player’s name before the event starts. The new player must accept these terms and the participation and medical waiver.
This does not apply where the change comes from us:
- If we cancel an event, you get a full refund.
- If we move an event to another date or place, or substantially change what the entry includes, you may choose to keep your entry or get a full refund.
Done-for-you services. The offer page states what is included and the delivery timeline. If we do not deliver what the offer describes, tell us and we will fix it. If we cannot, we refund the part of the price for what was not delivered.
Refunds go back to the original payment method.
8. Using our products
Digital products and subscriptions are licensed to you for your own use (or your organisation’s internal use if you bought as a business). You may not resell, share or publish them unless the product’s own terms allow it. We keep all intellectual property rights in our products. For done-for-you services, once you have paid in full you own the website, content and other work we deliver to you. We keep ownership of our own templates, tools, methods and know-how, and you get a permanent licence to use any of them that are built into your delivered work. Third-party items included in the work, such as themes, plugins, fonts and stock images, stay under their own licences.
9. If something is wrong
If a product or service does not match its description or does not work as it should, you have the legal rights that consumer law gives you, which may include having it fixed, a price reduction or ending the contract. Tell us at hq@first.basketball as soon as you notice the problem.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for intentional acts or gross negligence, or any liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Otherwise:
- We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was formed.
- For business customers, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, data or business opportunity, and our total liability under any order is limited to the amount paid for that order.
Taking part in physical activity at events carries some risk of injury. Every participant must accept our separate participation and medical waiver before taking part, and a parent or legal guardian must sign it for anyone under 18. Players take part under the event’s own rules and the instructions of staff on site.
11. Personal data
We process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy: https://first.basketball/privacy/.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force when you placed your order applies to that order. For subscriptions, we will tell you by email about material changes at least 30 days before they apply to your next renewal, and you may cancel before then.
13. Complaints and disputes
Please contact us first at hq@first.basketball. We reply within 15 working days.
If you are a consumer and we cannot resolve your complaint, you can contact the Consumer Rights Protection Centre of Latvia (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības centrs, PTAC), www.ptac.gov.lv, or its Consumer Dispute Resolution Commission. If you live in another EU country, the European Consumer Centre in your country can also help.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Latvia, and disputes go to the courts of Latvia. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of that country, and you may bring a claim in the courts where you live.
